So The Biggest Loser starts in just FIVE days!
This time it's about families. I was trying to figure out what was different this time that they didn't just call it couples again...and the fact is that it's actually 8 teams total, 4 husband/wife teams & 4 parent/child teams.
I'm thinking the dynamics might be changing here for a few reasons:
1. The last season had several different kinds of relationships, friends, strangers, ex-spouses, spouses, teammates, parent/child. This season is concentrating on two relationship dynamics (spouses & parent/child). Of course each relationship is different, but I know personally there is no relationship that can set off more fireworks than those two!
2. Last season there were 10 teams, this season there are only 8. Part of that is that there are less weeks between and now and Christmas, and more between Jan and May. But one things this will do is allow us to know the teams a bit more intimately, simply because there are less people for us to know.
3. I wonder how host Alison Sweeney's pregnancy will play into things? It may not at all. OR it could bring up parents missing their kids at home, frustrations over un-lost pregnancy weight, parental regret (wishing they could do it over), etc.
4. It appears from the promo pics they are pitting the spouses against the parents/children....so this will be interesting.
Stay tuned....and mark those calendars--Tuesdays 8PM eastern
