HERE'S AN E-MAIL I SENT OUT TO MY FAMILY/FRIENDS ABOUT HOW YOU CAN HELP ME TO BE ABLE TO KEEP MY BLOG GOING (ie. financial support) WHILE SIMPLY DOING SOMETHING YOU WOULD ALREADY BE DOING--HOLIDAY SHOPPING!!!!
Dear Family & Friends,
I'm writing you just before Thanksgiving to let you know that I'm thinking you all. I'm not always good at keeping in touch or letting you know that you are important in my life, but each and every one of you has a special place in my heart & I do think of you often!
As you many of you know (and some of you may not) I started a website this year about weight loss. After having Sarah in 2006 I began a very important journey in becoming healthier & have lost nearly 100 pounds! This is very significant to me, perhaps the most important thing I have done (besides marrying Rod and having Sarah & Zoe). As I continue on my journey to lose the rest of my weight I journal about it ('blog') on the site.
The site, http://www.lost100.com also features interviews with people who have lost over 100 pounds (I interviewed Jared the Subway guy a couple months ago!), DVD workout reviews, and other things people find motivating/inspiring.
I'm trying to turn this into a business (something I can do from home & thus continue to spend some extra time with my girls!). One of the ways I make money is by people simply visiting the site (www.lost100.com), although that does not particularly bring in a lot of money. Another way I make money is when people click on the advertising links on the site. Finally, I also make money when people link to amazon.com through my site. I make a percentage of every amazon purchase people make when they go to Amazon through my website.
This is where I'm asking for your help. Perhaps you were planning to do some of your holiday shopping this year through Amazon.com? It will cost you nothing more to access Amazon through my site AND you will be supporting me in building my business!
If this seems too technical I'll break it down for you. Simply go to http://www.lost100.com In the right hand column you will see something that says, 'my favorite things'--click on one of them. This will re-direct you to the Amazon site. From there navigate Amazon as usual. I will receive a percentage from each sale. Also, it does not tell me who is shopping, so don't worry about me finding out that you are buying me that Anthropology sweater or that you are buying a risque novel (haha)!
Finally, please feel free to forward this e-mail to others...it's nice to know that you can help someone out doing something you were going to be doing anyway (shopping)!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving & thanks for reading!
With much love & sincerity,
Jennifer
