Um...what to eat?! There are no *breakfast* foods on the list. Shit!
So I feed the kids...and keep thinking. I don't have the industrial-strength juicer from my brother yet. But I will hopefully tomorrow. That does not help the fact that it's now 9AM and I have not eaten breakfast. Water. Nope...gotta eat something. Lentil soup is on the list.
Breakfast:
1 small box organic lentil soup.
Drive to the pharmacy and to the city to the salon to get my hair cut. Big-ass 1.58 quart Fiji Water is riding shotgun. Crap. What do I eat for lunch? Did I mention I have a 3-year-old with me? Argh. Don't think about food. Think about your hair. Start talking to Paula (who I love with every part of my Goddess-heart) and I stop thinking about food and start thinking about things that actually matter-like life and friendship and my hair.
Brother shows up and picks up aerant toddler and takes her for a walk. Hair appointment is over. Drive brother and crazy kid to Brooklyn. Pick up HUGE, industrial strength Breville juicer from brother. Drive brother back to the city. Drive through Holland tunnel back to New Jersey--it's almost 3PM. I have not eaten lunch--argh!
Pick up child #1 at babysitters, drive home and immediately consume:
Lunch:
1-1/2 c. carrot ginger soup
1 c. brown rice, cinamon, baked granny smith organic apple
I nearly fall asleep due to the food coma that ensues. BUT it was REALLY good. Tomorrow I know what's for breakfast: rice with fruit--it's just like oatmeal!
Dinner:
bok choy, sauteed in 1 tsp sesame oil & a sprinkle of sea salt
Let me just say, I have never in my life had bok choy. The nutritionist had to show me what it looked like and suggest ways to prepare it AND it was REALLY good. Not just, 'oh I'm appeasing my mother and saying it's good so I don't hurt her feelings'...but 'wow! I'm totally coking this again, perhaps regularly!
The night's not over...I still have some aspargus and some brocoli standing by, ready to go on duty if they are so needed. And I have a lot of water to drink still. I realized I drank less water early in the day than I normally do...probably since I had to be in the car for a couple hours and wasn't sure when I would be able to duck into a bathroom.
So far I don't feel deprived, I don't feel like I'm doing anything out of the ordinary (except for that whole breakfast thing).
I think I'll continue to blog about my experience the next 7 days, so I can look back for future cleanses and maybe, just maybe something I say may offer support to someone when they need it most (that someone is probably going to be ME-ha!).
Later gators!

Tha was my thought,too.

Besides all the amazing and healthy food we've been eating we have been getting in several miles of walking/day- and we can feel it! These hills are unlike anything I've ever seen! Today we are setting out on bikes to check out parts of the city that are too far to walk to in a day, to bike the Golden Gate Bridge, bike around Salsalito and other areas. Looking forward to it!

I totally go along you! I have often felt that way but nobody really would like to take it as seriously as we do apparently. Excellent blog anyway, I am going to have to stop by more frequently.

I must admit I didn't think Toy Story 3 would be worth the wait but I think the movie delivered. Very good movie and a touching ending that even made me tear up.. just a tiny bit. :)
