Still doing great! No headaches or strange pains or strange feelings in my body. I was a bit grumpy, to be honest, but that could be anything, not just the cleanse.
I keep trying to remind myself that discomfort, bad feelings, uncomfortable feelings are like contractions: the get a little worse, plateau, then they start to subside. A feeling of 'oh I wish I could eat a hot dog too' does not last all day, it lasts for maybe 10 minutes, tops! Hots dogs will be consumed at baseball games, not every week, for special occassions. Same with desserts. I'll live to eat a dessert again one day, but just because there's a birthday cake for a random kid or co-worker does not mean I need to partake-I just don't (and frankly, you don't need to partake either)!
Anyway, here's what I ate today--by the way, I really enjoyed the cabbage--it was quite delicious (similar to kale or bok choy or spinach). I can actually plan to eat that more often on a daily basis, even when I'm not on a cleanse.
breakfast:
1 cup brown rice, 1 granny smith apple cut up & cooked, cinnamon
lunch:
2 cups carrot ginger soup
snack:
apple
late afternoon snack:
1 1/2 cup lentil soup
dinner:
2 cups carrot ginger soup, 15 shrimp cooked in 1 tsp coconut oil; cabbaged cooked in 1 tsp sesame oil & sea salt

Tha was my thought,too.

I'm still on vacation, so this is just a short & sweet note about trees. We went for a hike in the Redwoods yesterday and I must say that trees are amazing! The redwoods, we learned, grow in these little clusters or families. Even when one part dies, the rest of the tree goes right on living. You can see spots of fire damage and catastrophic falls from other trees, but the tree goes right on living. Sure, life might be different, but life remains. Reminds me of the beautiful scenes from the movie Avatar. Nature always wants to return to homestasis, to a place of wellness. We can learn a lot from nature and trees...

I must admit I didn't think Toy Story 3 would be worth the wait but I think the movie delivered. Very good movie and a touching ending that even made me tear up.. just a tiny bit. :)

And be a model — read yourself. Do it every day, and let your child see how much you love reading. He'll pick up on it.
