I am trying to approach my life from a place of abundance (as opposed to a place of deficit)...yet I keep finding myself eye-to-eye with a green-eyed monster-ME, and more specically my cravings. Party tonight and I couldn't eat the handmade quesadillas, the brie, the cookies, the wine...
And when the kids got ice cream today, what is typically second nature: cleaning up the ice cream (read: using that as an excuse to get a few licks) didn't hapen.
I'm learning more and more that I don't like the feeling of being left out. It sucks. But it's also temporary. I am sure had I had the ice cream or the cookies or the wine I would be no better off than I am now.
Let's cut to the chase: when will I stop having one-night-stands with food?!
It's an interesting analogy...people repeatedly hook-up and later regret it, it's not good for them, sure, it felt good, but it's fleeting and they are left feeling like a shmuck! Isn't it the same with food, really? Ice cream=feel like crap about oneself. Hmmm...interesting thing to ponder.
Here's what I ate today:
Breakfast:
1 cup brown rice, 3/4 cooked frozen blueberries (can I just say--super yummy! just like oatmeal!)
Lunch:
sushi--brown rice tuna avocado roll
Snack:
lentil soup
Early dinner snack:
juiced! 1 bundle kale, 2 apples, 3 carrots--it was actually much tastier than it sounds- I liked it!
Dinner:
1 cup quinoa, 1 cup sugar snap peas in tamari, sesame oil, sesame seeds
Evening snack:
juiced! 1 bundle kale, 1 apple, 4 carrots--refreshing
Looking forward to tomorrow. I felt a little grumpy today, but it wasn't awful. Interested to see what tomorrow holds.
Definitely need to drink more water!

It was such a great diet. Nice meals you had. :)

Besides all the amazing and healthy food we've been eating we have been getting in several miles of walking/day- and we can feel it! These hills are unlike anything I've ever seen! Today we are setting out on bikes to check out parts of the city that are too far to walk to in a day, to bike the Golden Gate Bridge, bike around Salsalito and other areas. Looking forward to it!
